Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I thought that I would use my first post to give a brief introduction to the animals in my life.
So.... meet Addie. She is a 17 hand, 14 year old Thoroughbred mare that has been in my life going on five years. She is the most gentle, sweet horse that I could have asked for. Unfortunally she is not able to be ridden at this time, but she will live with me forever. She is the alpha mare in the pasture, but only because her size is slightly intimidating to the shorter horses. =] Since she believes that her time off amounts to retirement, her joy comes from rolling in the muddiest spot she can find, flirting with her neighbor geldings, and begging for food. (Excuse the tongue!)

Next is Pepsi, a 6 year old Quarter Horse Mare, that is about 15 hands tall. She is veeeerrry sweet and willing to please. I bought Pepsi in the hopes that she would be my all around horse. Doing a little bit of Dressage, Jumping, and safe for trails. I also wanted a horse that my sister could feel comfortable riding.  I had a hard time getting used to her at first, as she would tuck her butt and slide to a stop whenever you shifted your weight back or even though about slowing her down. Now that we have figured each other out we have a blast together. She is slowly figuring out that contact is not a bad thing, and I am learning to ride her bitless and bridleless.
The last "horse" in our clan gives the blog its name. A Horse and A "Half." =]
Java is a 13.1 hand, 5 year old Hackney pony cross. He has a definite pony personality, he would love to the boss to both Pepsi and Addie, but Addie won't allow it. Pepsi allows him to push her around. Java loves to play! He will pick up anything he can get his mouth on, whether it be whips, halters, buckets, etc. He will then chase Pepsi around with whatever he has in his mouth until she finally lets him know she has had enough. He also LOVES to jump and will free jump anything that he can. He is pretty knew to our horse clan but he fits in more everyday.
There are many other animals in our family. We have one ten year old lab, three cats, 6 ducks, 2 lizards, 2 rats, and 1 ball python. We make up a large happy family!
